:: ODESSA a Film by Amy Lyndon ::
| | | As "Costume Designer" on this most heart felt project, I am proud to say that I was immerse in the very powerful message of this story. The story of "Odessa"
stems from the relationship that was developed amongst the families of
two very different group of people set in the suburbs of 1962, New
Rochelle, New York. It tells of a little girl, often neglected and ignored,
being an only child, and the housekeeper that befriends her with openness
and care, something the little girl longed for. We follow their relationship
through a host of twist and turns, with chills and triumphs that brings
us closer to these two important characters in the story of "Odessa". Amy
Lyndon has managed to capture the essesnce of this tale only to leave us
wondering, deeply about our heroins. Yolanda King brilliantly portrays "Odessa", the housekeeper.
Yolanda is the daughter of the rightouus Dr.MARTIN LUTHER KING. Brenda Grate plays "Lisa", the little girl we all
want to care about. Amy Lyndon, plays "Ann", the Mother. Brad Sergi, plays "Joe", the father who loves his daughter dearly, but is often caught
in transit to and from his job. James Black,
plays "Leonard", "Odessa's" son. We get to follow both "Odessa" and "Lisa's" daily lives with many a difficult turns. This story celebrates not only love and friendship but the remarkable relationship that happens
when people openly share themselves, lovingly! |
